Founded in Detroit in 1907, Oakland Motor Car Company joined General Motors in 1909. Oakland became GM’s midrange option, offering comfortable, visually attractive but not particularly high-performance cars. The brand did not do well during the Great Depression, and was dropped in 1931.
The Museum’s Oakland is a 1929 Olympic model, the Canadian version of that year’s “All-American Six”.

Fondée à Détroit en 1907, Oakland Motor Car Company a rejoint General Motors en 1909. Oakland est devenue l'option milieu de gamme de GM, proposant des voitures confortables, visuellement attrayantes mais pas particulièrement performantes. La marque n’a pas bien fonctionné pendant la Grande Dépression et a été abandonnée en 1931.
L’Oakland du Musée est un modèle Olympic de 1929, la version canadienne des « All-American Six » de cette année-là.
