Tuesday to Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm

PREPARING FOR YOUR VISIT

  • Tickets can be pre-purchased online or at the front reception desk.

  • Existing voucher holders and members can call the museum at 905-576-1222 or email info@canadianautomotivemuseum.com to schedule their visit.

  • No food or drink is allowed in the museum.

  • If you’re feeling unwell or have a fever on the date of your visit, please reschedule for another time. If you have purchased tickets and are not able to visit, please email please email info@canadianautomotivemuseum.com for assistance.

  • We strongly recommend you bring only essential items with you to the Museum as there is no coat check available.

  • COVID-19 rules and restrictions may change at any time in accordance to Region of Durham public health guideline. Please contact the museum if you have any questions.

During Your Visit

  • If you need to leave personal items in your car, keep them safely stored in the trunk or otherwise hidden from view. The Museum does not accept responsibility for the loss or theft of visitors’ personal items.

  • Be careful to maintain physical distancing in the galleries. Keeping your distance promotes your safety and ensures a more enjoyable viewing experience for yourself and others. Parties may remain together. Children must stay with a parent or caregiver at all times.

MUSEUM ETIQUETTE

We kindly ask that all visitors follow these rules when visiting the Museum. Please:

  • Visit when you're feeling well.

  • Wash your hands after using the washroom, eating, or coughing.

  • Refrain from touching any of the artifacts.

  • Personal photography is permitted and encouraged - please share your pictures our our TripAdvisor page.

  • All children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver while visiting the Museum.

Guided Tours

Visitors must adhere to social distancing guidelines when interacting with museum tour guides and volunteers.

Accessibility

Please note that only the main floor of the Canadian Automotive Museum is currently wheelchair accessible and a non-accessible washroom is available on the main floor. Our apologies for any inconvenience while the museum is under renovation. 

Parking

Complimentary parking is available for museum visitors in the lot adjacent to the museum. Visitors may also park on the gravel lot behind the museum. Street parking is free after 6pm daily and all day on weekends and public holidays in Oshawa. Please note "RESERVED PARKING" spots are rented by local businesses.

 

Directions

From Toronto and other cities to the West of Oshawa: Take 401 East to Oshawa, exit Simcoe Street North. The Simcoe Street exit requires a left turn from stop sign into left hand turn lane. Turn left at lights, continue over the highway, and head north 1.7km on Simcoe St. The museum is on the right, across from Memorial Park after passing the stoplight at John St.

From Kingston and other cities to the East of Oshawa: Take Highway 401 west to Oshawa. Exit at Simcoe St. This exit requires you follow the exit street (Drew) to the lights at Drew & McNaughton Avenue. Turn left at McNaughton and follow to Simcoe St. Turn right (north) at Simcoe Street and continue north to the museum. The museum is on the right, across from Memorial Park after passing the stoplight at John St. 

By Train from Toronto Union Station: Take the Lakeshore East Go Train to Oshawa. The train will take you to the Oshawa GO/VIA Rail Train Station where the 90 GO bus will be waiting for you to transfer; this bus will deliver you to Downtown Oshawa at the corner of King & Simcoe. Walk 3 blocks south on Simcoe to the CAM across from Memorial Park. Complete trip takes approximately 1.5 hours.

By Bus: The CAM is a short walk from the Oshawa Bus Terminal, which is served by both GO Transit and Greyhound.
