50 years ago, astronauts drove three Lunar Roving Vehicles, or moon buggies, on the surface of moon, where they remain today. These electric cars were important to the exploration of space, as well as catalysts for the development of advanced battery technology we use today. Join Erin Gregory and Valerie Wood from the Canada Air and Space Museum as they discusses the Canadian connections to these historic vehicles and their influence on modern electric cars.
This online talk will take place over Zoom and is part of the Canadian Automotive Museum's Third Thursday lecture series. These online talks are free and open to the public, but registration is required. The Canadian Automotive Museum is a registered Canadian charity and a suggested donation of $10 goes toward covering the cost of hosting these virtual events. Donors who make an annual contribution of over $25 will receive a charitable tax receipt.

Erin Gregory is the Curator at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. Erin Gregory is a Curator at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa. She has a Master of Arts in Canadian History from Memorial University and a Bachelor of Arts in History and English from McMaster University, as well as a post-graduate diploma in Cultural Resource Management from the University of Victoria. In her six years at the museum, Erin has curated many exhibitions and digital products on a variety of subjects. Her areas of research and interest include aviation in the First World War, airplane manufacturing in Canada, the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan, women in Canadian aviation, the history of air traffic control in Canada, the Avro Arrow, and the history of human space flight. Erin is especially passionate about delivering historical information in new and interesting ways, and engaging the public in aerospace history through storytelling.
Valerie Wood is the Assistant Curator at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa. She holds a BA in History and Gender Studies from McGill University, and an MA in Public History with a Graduate Diploma in Curatorial Studies from Carleton University. She is passionate about highlighting diverse stories in aerospace history.
